In the International Monetary Fund’s recently released Regional Economic Outlook for Asia and the Pacific, growth prospects for the region were downgraded for the next two years. Yong Pung How Professor Ramkishen S. Rajan, from the NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and Bhavya Gupta, a PhD candidate at LKYSPP and Fox International Fellow at Yale University, opined that the region is on a much stronger footing now, in terms of macroeconomic and external sector resilience, but some vulnerabilities remain.
