Defeating dengue starts at home, but will hinge on scientific research

The complexity of the dengue virus requires a multi-pronged and multidisciplinary approach – to control mosquitos and their habitats, as well as to treat and prevent human disease. While Assoc Prof Ashley St. John from Duke-NUS Medical School acknowledges the current mitigation efforts undertaken, she appeals for more investment in research to develop and trial improved dengue treatments and vaccines.
