Let’s Eat - Ayo Makan - Gin Tuh - Ăn thôi

An exciting adventure hunt of food and culture was conducted physically at Kampong Glam and Golden Mile. Participants got to experience Singapore’s titles of Melting Pot of Cultures and Food Haven as they discovered food cultures and iconic cultural places through games, and tried out delicacies.

Put on Your Creative Hats

Through the Peranakan Tiles Painting workshop, participants learnt about the fascinating history of the Peranakan culture and created their own unique pieces of Peranakan tiles. In the Rangoli Art workshop, students created their own Rangoli design with coloured sand.

Let's Explore SG! (Online)

This event explored different aspects of Singapore culture such as Singlish and the local cuisine over 2 online sessions. The different fun online activities organised allowed participants to experience unique aspects of a Singaporean life such as speaking Singlish and ordering Kopi.

Participants learnt about the history and process of Batik painting, and painted their own masterpieces in the Batik Painting Workshop. In the Chinese Painting (Plum Blossom) Workshop, students learnt the importance of practising each stroke and also made new friends at their respective tables.

Students celebrated the end of their examinations by participating in the Tie-dye Painting and Tote-bag Painting workshops, where they also made new friends.

Life After Graduation Publicity
An Adventure: Life after Graduation (Online)

To support students in the stressful and uncertain transition from university life to the workplace, this four-hour programme was organised for students to network with peers through games, acquaint themselves with workplace cultures through alumni sharing and learn about mental wellness through a workshop conducted by OSA Student Wellness.

In this 2-hour online social networking session, participants made new friends and learnt about each other’s different cultures through station games and fun quizzes.

Gearing Up for Graduation (Online)

In this Cultural Intelligence (CQ) workshop, participants learnt how to navigate and adapt to challenges, as well as improve personal effectiveness based on their individual CQ assessment results.

Harmony Street Livestream
A Trip Down Harmony Street (Online)

This livestream tour featured four places of worship along Waterloo Street, including a visit into a synagogue. Led by experienced guides, the participants learnt much about the places of worship and the history of multicultural Waterloo Street.

Around the World in 80 Minutes (Online)

This 2-hour online programme promoted intercultural understanding amongst local and international students. Through station games and facilitated conversations, participants shared and learnt from one another's cultures.

EnginBuddies Poster
EnginBuddies (Online)

Organised by the NUS Students' Engineering Club for their freshmen, EnginBuddies is a 3-week programme designed to facilitate intercultural exchange and forging of meaningful friendships. Participants from different backgrounds shared their experiences organically in a small group setting, over 3 themes: food, culture, public transport and languages.

iCARE Week 2021 (Online)

International students bonded with fellow locals through this 3-day online welcome event which consisted of various themes ranging from icebreakers and competitive games to an interactive virtual 'get-a-clue' mystery. While they made new friends and memories, they also learnt more about Singapore and its cultures.

Speakers from NUS Library, Peer Student Supporters (PSS) and Office of Student Affairs (OSA) gave tips as well as useful resources to help graduate freshmen acclimatise to NUS. Student leaders from NUS Graduate Students’ Society (GSS) also demonstrated how they can enrich their time as a graduate student in NUS.
