Schemes for Tuition Fees and/or Living Costs

MENDAKI Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy


The scheme is to help financially needy full-time undergraduate students, who are Singapore Citizens and whose race or the first component of the double-barrelled race stated in their NRIC is MALAY (which includes Boyanese, Javanese, Banjarese, Bugis, and Indonesian Extract), pay for up to 100% of their subsidised tuition fee.

From AY2026/2027 onwards, undergraduates with a monthly household per capita income (PCI) up to S$2,400 will be eligible for:

  • 100% subsidy of tuition fees if PCI is S$1,700 and below;
  • 75% subsidy of tuition fees if PCI is S$1,701 to S$2,000; and
  • 50% subsidy of tuition fees if PCI is S$2,001 to S$2,200.
  • 25% subsidy of tuition fees if PCI is S$2,201 to S$2,400

  • Singapore Citizens or bona fide residents of Singapore with one parent (including adoptive parent and step-parent), living or deceased, is a Singapore Citizen
  • Race or the first component of the double-barrelled race stated in the student’s NRIC is MALAY (which includes Boyanese, Javanese, Banjarese, Bugis, and Indonesian Extract)
  • From AY2026/2027 onwards, the monthly PCI of the undergraduate does not exceed S$2,400
  • Undergraduates receiving the MOE Tuition Grant
  • Students pursuing their first degree on a full-time basis

Yayasan MENDAKI will release the application results as indicated in the below table.

For students using a combination of financial aid schemes for the payment of their subsidised tuition fees, the disbursement sequence is as follows (where applicable):

 

  1. Scholarship that covers 100% of tuition fee / MENDAKI Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS)
  2. SkillsFuture Credit
  3. Higher Education Community/Higher Education Bursary (Medicine/Dentistry) 
  4. NUS Bursaries
  5. Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) Scheme*
  6. CPF Education Loan Scheme (CELS)*
  7. Higher Education Student Loan (HESL)/Tuition Fee Loan/MOE Study Loan*
  8. Higher Education Community/Higher Education Bursary (non-Medicine/Dentistry)
  9. Bursaries (non-NUS)
  10. GIRO deduction from students' own account/other account/NETS/Others

* If your tuition fee is already fully covered by a scholarship/NUS Bursaries/TTFS, tuition fee schemes such as PSEA, CELS, MOE TFL and MOE Study Loan (Tuition Fee portion), HESL (Tuition Fee portion) will not be applicable and you should not apply for these schemes to cover your tuition fee). If you are an existing recipients of such tuition fee schemes, please contact the Office of Finance to suspend the PSEA, CELS, MOE TFL and MOE Study Loan (Tuition Fee portion), if applicable.

 

Upon satisfactory compliance of all terms and conditions, funds will be credited to the student's account by the Office of Finance twice a year around September and February each year. All fees due to the University will be deducted from the funds prior to crediting.

Application period for new students matriculating in the following semesters are shown in the table below. Applicants are required to submit an online application on the Yayasan MENDAKI website here

Please note that new students are to apply for the scheme only after they have accepted the offer of admission, while current students can apply only in Semester 1.
