NUS encourages our students to embark on overseas experiential learning. We recognise that some students may need financial assistance to participate in overseas programmes. Listed below are bursaries available for needy NUS Singaporean students to apply.
Bursaries Application Information

Loh Boon Chye & Family SEP Awards

The award was created through a generous donation from Mr Loh Boon Chye, an NUS alumnus. The award will support financially-needy students for Student Exchange Programme (SEP) to the United Kingdom, the United States of America and China. Up to 6 awards are available each year.

Application period: 1 April 2024 till 15 May 2024 for SEP in AY2024/25

NUS Awards for Study Abroad – NASA Degree Bursary

The NASA Degree Bursaries are administered by respective Faculty/School. They are available on needs basis to full-time undergraduate students who are Singapore Citizen and are going overseas to participate in selected Joint, Double or Concurrent Degree Programmes with overseas universities. This bursary will be granted based on student’s per capita gross monthly household income (PCI) and student may receive at most ONE (1) NASA Degree Bursary/Scholarship award during their undergraduate study in NUS. Other terms and conditions may apply.

Please approach your Faculty/School administering the specific Joint, Double or Concurrent Degree Programme.

NUS Awards for Study Abroad – NASA Enhancement Bursary

The NASA Enhancement Bursaries are available on needs basis to undergraduate students who are going overseas to participate in NUS-administered overseas summer, winter and research attachment programmes.

-1 Apr to 30 Jun 2024 for programme in NUS Special Term 1 & 2 in AY2023/2024
-1 Sep to 30 Nov 2024 for programme in NUS Dec vacation in AY2024/2025

NUS Awards for Study Abroad – NASA Exchange Bursary

The NASA Exchange Bursaries are available on needs basis to undergraduate students who are going overseas to participate in Student Exchange Programme (SEP).

-1 April to 30 June 2024 for Semester 1 and Full Year SEP in AY 2024/2025
-1 October to 30 November 2024 for Semester 2 SEP in AY 2024/2025

SEP Award for the Community Spirited

The award was created through a generous donation from Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara from Temasek International. The award encourages students who have demonstrated a desire to give back to the society through consistent and active community involvement to embark on a Student Exchange Programme. 8 awards valued at S$6,000 each are available each year.

Application period: 1 April 2024 till 15 May 2024 for SEP in AY2024/25

MENDAKI-NUS Overseas Programme Fund

This fund was set up with the support of Yayasan MENDAKI and administered by the NUS Global Relations Office (GRO), with the objective of supporting financially needy Malay students to go on the Student Exchange Programmes with our partner universities.

Application period: 1 April 2024 till 15 May 2024 for SEP in AY2024/25
