Oral Communication Committee Workshops During Semester 2 AY23/24

The Oral Communication Committee offered a second run of our cheekily titled series of four workshops on presentation skills, “MMA: power punching your presentations”.  We based our content on ideas derived from multimodal analysis, (Kress, 2009) in which the main points of messages may be more convincing if points were constructed so that words, visuals, voice, and nonverbal communication worked together to pack a punch.  Although each workshop could be taken on their own, a few participants came for more than one, which we were much encouraged by.

There were also a few requests to repeat workshops for specific groups which we were pleased to be able to give. The OCC is happy to consider requests for workshops on demand. We offer these workshops pro bono for student groups. On demand workshops are subject to availability and timing of the requests, but please write to enquire.

The OCC is always pleased to offer workshops on aspects of oral communication that are of interest. If you have a suggestion for a topic, please also contact us.
