Lim Chong Tee, co-founder of Wateroam, is driven by a simple vision: no one should die of prolonged thirst. His startup develops portable water filtration systems for disaster relief and rural communities without clean water, benefiting over 500,000 people across Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East. His environmental engineering studies at NUS equipped him with the scientific, technical, and business skills to advance this social mission.

Wateroam has received major international recognition, including the 2023 World Economic Forum x Uplink Global Fresh Water Innovation Challenge and the 2022 Zayed Sustainability Prize, and has participated in major UN summits such as COP27 and COP28. Its latest innovation, the ROAMfilter Plus, produces 250 liters of clean water per hour, enough for over 100 people. Outside work, Chong Tee is active in volunteerism and social service, championing education and ground-up change to fight poverty.
