On 14 October 2025, Helixians had the pleasure of hearing from Ju Ying, an alumnus who once called Helix House his home. Known for his warm smile and approachable nature, JY returned to share his unconventional yet deeply inspiring educational and career journey. JY is an Electrical Engineering graduate. His academic path was far from typical — before entering NUS, he pursued his studies through ITE and Polytechnic, showing that everyone’s learning path may look different but could still move toward the same direction and destination. By the time he completed his degree, JY was already in his thirties — a testament to his perseverance and passion for learning.
During the session, JY encouraged Helixians to find joy in the journey, even when the road ahead seems daunting. Above all, he reminded everyone to follow their heart and pursue what truly excites them — because, in the end, doing what you love will always make the effort worthwhile.
