Tuition Fee Loan (TFL) |
The value of the loan is up to 90% of tuition fee payable by Singapore Citizens for the same course.
The loan is tenable for the entire undergraduate course duration.
Part–time undergraduate students who satisfy the above criteria can apply for TFL through the Office of Financial Aid (OFA). Once their TFL applications are approved by OFA, students will be given an approval letter (hardcopy) confirming their eligibility. Students can then download and fill up the TFL application form and proceed to apply at the bank (either at DBS or OCBC) together with their guarantors. A copy of the approval letter must be produced at the point of application.
Interest computation is deferred until after graduation. Thereafter, average prime rate of DBS, OCBC and UOB applies. Repayment can be in one lump sum or in fixed equal monthly installments (minimum of $100 per month), commencing not later than 2 years after graduation. The maximum repayment period is 20 years
A guarantor is required. He or she must be an adult between 21 and 60 years of age and is not a bankrupt. Only Singapore Citizen guarantors are acceptable for Singapore Citizen students; Singaporean/SPR guarantors are acceptable for SPR students and Singaporean/SPR/non-Singaporean guarantors are acceptable for international students
Students who wish to apply for the TFL can download the application form here and bring it to either DBS or OCBC with their guarantor for processing. Prospective students are to apply for the TFL only after accepting the admission offer. Please refer to the table below for the various application deadlines.
