How do I apply for the NUS Student Assistance Loan?
The University offers the NUS Student Assistance Loan as a component of the financial aid package to eligible applicants who have been assessed to be needy. This loan is tenable for the entire course duration.
Eligible applicants who apply online for financial aid via the NUS financial aid system will automatically be considered for award of this loan if assessed to be needy. Click here to apply.

Yes, you may apply.

3.

Can a non-Singaporean be my guarantor for the NUS Student Assistance Loan?
No. The guarantor for the NUS Student Assistance Loan must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who is above 21 years old, and not a bankrupt.
In addition, he or she must not be a party (borrower/guarantor) to any agreement unless the agreement relates to the NUS Student Assistance Loan (previously known as Subsistence Loan and Cash Assist Loan) involving the same student.

Am I automatically awarded the NUS Student Assistance Loan for next academic year?
Yes. The NUS Student Assistance Loan is tenable for the entire course duration.

When should I start repaying the loan?
Repayment can be in one lump sum or in fixed equal monthly installments commencing not later than 3 months after graduation. The maximum repayment period is 5 years depending on the total loan quantum taken. The loan is interest free.
