Andy Chua Bursary

The Andy Chua Bursary was established by Mr Andy Chua in Academic Year 2005/2006 with a donation of $120,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy final year undergraduate students who intend to pursue a career in a media-related industry upon graduation.

Chee Phui Hung Bursary

The Chee Phui Hung Bursary was established in 2011 from donations raised by the Alumni Association (Southern Branch) of an approximately $357,700. This bursary was named after Dr Chee Phui Hung, who has served as the Chairman and of the Alumni Association’s Southern Branch and subsequently the association’s President. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students reading Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.

Chen Kong Yuen Memorial Bursary

The Chen Kong Yuen Memorial Bursary was established by NUS Faculty of Engineering in Academic Year 1981/1982 with a donation of $11,800. This bursary is awarded to needy Engineering undergraduate students who are in their 2nd year of study.

Chen Su Lan Student Bursary

The Chen Su Lan Student Bursary was established in 2009 with a donation of $1,000,000 from the Chen Su Lan Trust. The bursary is awarded to help needy undergraduate students who have the dedication, commitment and ethos of service to the community and who wish to work in the helping and caring professions.

Chew Beng Keng Bursary

The Chew Beng Keng Bursary was established in 2011 with a donation of $150,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy Malaysian and Singapore Citizen undergraduate students reading Medicine, Law or Accounting.

Chia Siew Wong Bursary

The Chia Siew Wong Bursary was established by Mr Chia Kum Ho in Academic Year 2007/2008 with a donation of $45,000 to NUS and seven bursaries are awarded each year. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students from the School of Business, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Engineering.

Chng Pheng Lui Memorial Bursary

The Chng Pheng Lui Memorial Bursary was established by School of Business Global Alumni Network in memory of Mr Chng Pheng Lui in Academic Year 2003/2004 with a donation of $55,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students majoring in Bachelor of Business Administration and one bursary is awarded to an undergraduate student in each year of study.

Class of 1972 Busary
The Class of 1972 Bursary Fund was established by the graduating class of 1972 in Academic Year 2005/2006 and the fund now stands at $1.3 million. This fund awards multiple bursaries to needy undergraduate students.



Derek Hewett Bursary

The Derek Hewett Bursary was established in 2010  with annual donations of $50,000. The Derek Hewett Foundation 2009 has committed its support in line with Derek Hewett’s belief in higher education and desire to use the remainder of his estate to provide education for needy undergraduate students in NUS.

Dr Lee Ah Loa Memorial Bursary

Dr Lee Ah Loa Memorial Bursary was established in Academic Year 1990/1991 with a donation of $50,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students in the Faculty of Dentistry.

Engineering Student Development Fund Bursary


The Engineering Student Development Fund Bursary was established from donations to the Engineering Student Development Fund and bursaries were first awarded in 2009. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering.

Esco Micro Bursary

The Esco Micro Bursary was established in 2010 with a donation of $150,000 from Mr Lim Lay Yew, a Pharmacy alumnus of the class of 1973 and CEO of Esco Micro Pte Ltd. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students majoring in Pharmacy, Life Science, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.


Fish & Co. Study Bursary

The Fish & Co. Study Bursary was established by Fish & Co. in Academic Year 2004/2005 with a donation of $35,000 to the University.  Three bursaries are awarded annually to undergraduate students reading the Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Business Administration Honours Programmes.

Gan Eng Teck and Maria Tan Ah Ho Bursary

The Gan Eng Teck and Maria Tan Ah Ho Bursary was established in 2008 with a donation of $250,000 to help needy undergraduate students.

Great Eastern - Howe Yoon Chong Bursary

The Great Eastern - Howe Yoon Chong Bursary was established by Great Eastern to commemorate Great Eastern’s 100th anniversary in Singapore and Malaysia and in memory of their late chairman, Howe Yoon Chong in Academic Year 2008/2009 with a donation of $500,000 to the University. 10 bursaries are to be awarded to needy undergraduate students in Academic Year 2008/2009 and Academic Year 2009/10 and 20 bursaries are to be awarded from Academic Year 2010/2011.

HMTCF Angel Care Bursary

The HMTCF Angel Care Bursary was established by the Hong Kong & Macau Taiwanese Charities Fund (HMTCF) under its Angel Care Student Assistantship Program in 2010. A donation of $100,000 was provided to award needy undergraduate students in the hope that the awardees would similarly contribute to the society.

Hunter Caldwell Bursary

The Hunter Caldwell Bursary was established in 2010 with a donation of over $361,000 from the Trustee of the Estate of William Mitchell Hunter. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduates students.

Jitendra Kantilal & Company Bursary

The Jitendra Kantilal & Company Bursary was established by Jitendra Kantilal & Company in Academic Year 1978/1979 with a donation of $15,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to year one needy undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences.

Lee Choon Seng Memorial Bursary

The Lee Choon Seng Memorial Bursary was established by the family of late Mr Lee Choon Seng in Academic Year 1966/1967 with a donation of $100,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy medical undergraduate students.

Lee Foundation Bursary

The Lee Foundation Bursary was established by the Lee Foundation in Academic Year 1973/1974 with an annual donated sum of $30,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Lee Wan Loke - Sarah Goh Sat Liap Bursary

The Lee Wan Loke – Sarah Goh Sat Liap Bursary  was established by Dr Lee Soo Ann from the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences in Academic Year 2007/2008 with a donation of $150,000. This bursary will cover the selected needy recipients for the whole course duration of their undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences.

Levis Strauss Asia Pacific Bursary

The Levis Strauss Asia Pacific Bursary was established in memory of their employees, the late Merleen Tan and Woo May Ling, who were in the ill-fated SilkAir crash of December 1997 in Academic Year 1997/1998 with a donation of $30,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to year two and year three needy undergraduate students studying Information Systems annually.

Lim Boon Keng Bursary/ Scholarship

The Lim Boon Keng Bursary was established from part of the proceeds of the estate of the late Dr Lim Boon Keng donated in 1973 and from donations from his daughter, Mrs Ena Teh since 1975. The bursary was first awarded in the academic year 1982/83 to 2nd Year medical undergraduate students and is tenable for the entire course duration.

Lim Joo Hock Bursary

The Lim Joo Hock Bursary was established in 2011 by Mr Lim Joo Hock, an NUS alumnus, with a donation of $250,000. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Lubrizol Bursary

The Lubrizol Bursary was established by Lubrizol in Academic Year 1995/1996 with a donation of $60,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering reading Chemical and Mechanical Engineering.

M C K Svasti Bursary

The M C K Svasti Bursary was established in Academic Year 1980/1981. This bursary is awarded to Chemistry honours year undergraduate students.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial

The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Bursary was established by the Gandhi Centenary Celebrations Committee of Singapore in Academic Year 1981/1982 with a donation of $70,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Material Research Society of Singapore Bursary (MRS Bursary)

The MRS Bursary was established by the Material Research Society of Singapore in Academic Year 2006/2007 with a donation of $50,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy Science undergraduate students.

NUS Alumni Bursary


The NUS Alumni Bursary was established by the NUS Office of Alumni Relations in Academic Year 2005/2006 with an annual donated sum of $30,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to at least one needy student from each faculty.

Ong Cho Tek Memorial Bursary

The Ong Cho Tek Memorial Bursary was established by the Estate of Ong Cho Tek with a donation of $50,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to at least one needy second year or final year student who reads Geography as one of the two principal subjects in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Ong Gwake Meng Bursary

The Ong Gwake Meng Bursary was established in 2010 in memory of the donor's late mother. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduates students.

Pesi B Davar Memorial Bursary

The Pesi B Davar Memorial Bursary was established in Academic Year 1981/1982 with an annual donation of five bursary awards. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students in the Faculties of Business Administration, Engineering, Medicine and students reading Pharmacy or Information Systems/Computer Science in the Faculty of Science/School of Computing.

Peter S T Lim Bursary

The Peter S T Lim Bursary was established by Windmill International Pte Ltd in Academic Year 1993/1994 with a donation of $50,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Phan Kah Foh Bursary

The Phan Kah Foh Bursary was established by the Phan family in Academic Year 2008/2009 with a donation of $250,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students, with preference given to women, taking Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.


R Jumabhoy Bursary

The R Jumabhoy Bursary (formerly known as R Jumabhoy Scholarship) was established with a donation of $10,000 in Academic Year 1965/1966. This bursary is awarded to needy medical undergraduate students.

Rebecca Sam Kwai Him Memorial Bursary

The Rebecca Sam Kwai Him Memorial Bursary was established in 2011 by Mr Lam Kun Kin, an NUS alumnus, with a donation of $150,000 in memory of Mr Lam’s aunt. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.


Reginald Quahe Memorial Bursary

The Reginald Quahe Memorial Bursary was established by the University of Singapore Academic Staff Union in Academic Year 1977/1978. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

S K Lee Bursary

The S K Lee Bursary was established by Mr S K Lee with a donation of $100,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Sajjad Foundation Pakistani Bursary

The Sajjad Foundation Pakistani Bursary was established by Sajjad Foundation, NUS Pakistani Alumni and Friends in Academic Year 2007/2008 with a donation of $56,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy Pakistani students.

Saw Swee Hock Bursary

The Saw Swee Hock Bursary was established by Professor Saw Swee Hock in Academic Year 2005/2006 with a initial donation of $240,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students in their final year of any bachelor degree programme.

School of Business Bursary


The School of Business Bursary was established in Academic Year 2004/2005 with a donation of $100,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students reading the Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration Honours programmes.

SDE Bursary

The SDE Bursary was established in 2007 from donations collected during the School of Design and Environment’s reunion dinner and exhibition in 2005. The total donations collected were $95,880 and is used to award bursaries to needy undergraduate students from the School of Design and Environment.

Singapore Booksellers & Stationers Association Bursary/Scholarship

The Singapore Booksellers & Stationers Association Bursary/Scholarship was established by Singapore Booksellers & Stationers Association in 1982 with a donation of approximately $20,300 to the University. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Singapore Cement Manufacturing Co. (Pte) Ltd Bursary/Scholarship

The Singapore Cement Manufacturing Co. (Pte) Ltd Bursary/Scholarship was established by Singapore Cement Manufacturing Co. (Pte) Ltd in 1977 with a donation of $20,000 to the University. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Singapore Dental Association Bursary

The Singapore Dental Association Bursary was established by Singapore Dental Association in 1970 with a donation of $5,500 to the University. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students in Dentistry.

Singapore Teachers' Union Bursary/Scholarship


The Singapore Teachers' Union Bursary/Scholarship was established by Singapore Teachers' Union in 1983 with a donation of $15,000 to the University. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Singapore Turf Club Bursary/Scholarship

The Singapore Turf Club Bursary/Scholarship was established by the Singapore Turf Club in 1982 with a donation of $100,000. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

SOC Bursary

The SOC Bursary was established by Professor Yuen Chung Kwong in Academic Year 2007/2008 with a donation of $35,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students from the School of Computing.

Sylvia Goh Medical Bursary

Previously known as the Goh Sin Tub Bursary, the Sylvia Goh Medical Bursary was established in 2007 with a donation of $150,000 to support needy undergraduate students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine each year.

Tan Joo Kee Bursary

The Tan Joo Kee Bursary was established in Academic Year 1991/1992 with a donation of $66,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Tan Lark Sye Bursary/Scholarship

The Tan Lark Sye Bursary/Scholarship was established by the Aik Hoe Group of Companies with a donation of approximately $1,012,300. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Tan Siak Kew Bursary/Scholarship

The Tan Siak Kew Bursary/Scholarship was established by T.S.K. Investment as at 1979 with a donation of $275,000. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Terence Khoo Memorial Bursary

The Terence Khoo Memorial Bursary was established in Academic Year 1972/1973 with an approximate donation of $20,000. This bursary is awarded to needy medical undergraduate students from throughout the whole course duration.

Thomson Shin Min Foundation Bursary

The Thomson Shin Min Foundation Bursary was established by Thomson Shin Min Foundation in Academic Year 1993/1994 with an annual donated sum of $10,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Wan Boo Sow and Annie Tan Bursary

The Wan Boo Sow and Annie Tan Bursary was established in 2010 with a donation of $500,000 from the Trustees of the Wan Boo Sow Charity Fund Limited. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduates from the Department of Pharmacy, Department of Social Work and Faculty of Law.


Wee Kheng Chiang Memorial Bursary/Scholarship

The Wee Kheng Chiang Memorial Bursary/Scholarship was established by the family and friends of the late Datuk Wee Kheng Chiang in Academic Year 1982/1983 with a donation of $500,000. The bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.

Windmill International Bursary

The Windmill International Bursary was established by Windmill International Pte Ltd in Academic Year 1993/1994 with a donation of $50,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students studying Southeast Asian studies.

Woh Hup Bursary

The Woh Hup Bursary was established by Woh Hup (Pte) Ltd in Academic Year 1981/1982 with a donation of $50,000 to the University. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students of any year of study reading Building and/or Civil Engineering.

Yong Shou Lin Memorial Bursary

The Yong Shou Lin Memorial Bursary was established in Academic Year 1994/1995 in memory of Mr and Mrs Yong Shou Lin with a donation of $50,000. This bursary is awarded to needy undergraduate students.
