Mr Tan was the Group CEO of PSA International (PSA) until his retirement in March 2024. PSA is a leading global port group and trusted partner to cargo stakeholders around the world. Before joining PSA in 2011, Mr Tan led global businesses in the Royal Dutch Shell Group, where he spent over 20 years working in the US, Europe, China and Singapore. Mr Tan is currently the Chairman of the National University Health System (NUHS), Deputy Chairman of Temasek Holdings and a Board Director of MOH Holdings (MOHH), Temasek Capital (China) Holdings and DSV A/S. Mr Tan was appointed Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers (CPA) with effect from 2 June 2026. He first joined the CPA as a member in June 2024. Between 2022 and 2024, he served as the Governor Chair for The World Economic Forum’s Supply Chain & Transport Industry Community. Mr Tan received a graduate degree in Industrial Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
