Symposium on Microplastics in the Environment and Water:
Challenges, Research, and Mitigation Strategies

MP Symposium 2025

Join us at the National University of Singapore from September 18-19, 2025, for the MP Symposium 2025. This event is a collaborative effort organised by the NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI), the NUS Centre for Water Research (CWR), and the SG Lab Forum, in support of NUS Sustainability Connect 2025.

As the use of plastic materials continues to grow globally, the resulting microplastic pollution has become a significant environmental and public health concern. The MP Symposium 2025 aims to address these challenges by bringing together scientists, academics, researchers, industry stakeholders, and government agencies. Our goal is to enhance understanding, foster meaningful discussions, and promote collaborative efforts to effectively manage and mitigate the impact of microplastic pollution.

We invite you to be part of this important dialogue and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.

The topics covered in the program include:

  • Strategies and practices inmanaging microplastics pollution
  • Fate and behaviour of microplastics
  • Health and ecological impact of microplastics
  • Microplastics measurement in environment and water
  • Microplastics removal technologies
  • Plastics recycling and upcycling

The call for Abstracts is now closed.
