How can I make use of Flywire’s Best Price Guarantee program if my local bank’s exchange rate is lower than Flywire’s rate?
Flywire aims to provide the best price for international payments via bank transfer. If you find a better FX rate at your local bank within two hours of booking a bank transfer payment in your local currency through Flywire, please visit Flywire’s Best Price Guarantee page to find out more and see if Flywire can match the rate offered by your bank. Do note that you may find a better exchange rate on websites such as Google, but these are often interbank rates and are not available to the general public.
When requesting for a Best Price Guarantee application, you will need to provide Flywire with an official bank document or screenshot of your bank’s exchange rate for the same amount booked on Flywire, with a clear date and time stamp within 2 hours of making the payment booking with Flywire. Flywire will review and determine eligibility within 1 – 2 business days, and our support team will contact you via email with approval or denial and an explanation. Do not send funds before receiving our decision.
I completed the details on the Flywire payment page but accidentally closed my browser before downloading the payment instructions. What should I do?
If you accidentally close your browser, please refer to the email notification that Flywire sends you. It contains a tracking link that will bring you back to your booking page, where you can retrieve the payment instructions.
Why don’t I see the currency I want to pay with in Flywire?
All available payment options are automatically displayed when creating a payment booking. If you do not see your preferred payment option in your local currency, unfortunately, it means we do not offer it at this time from your country to your institution.
If there are no options to pay in your local currency, you can select to pay via international bank transfer (SWIFT) in another major currency (e.g. USD, GBP, EUR…).
Do note that your bank may charge additional processing fees when initiating an international wire transfer, which is out of Flywire’s control.
Can I select to pay in another currency other than my local currency in Flywire?
Yes, you can. When creating your payment booking, the second step is to select your preferred payment method. Scroll down to click the button “I want to pay in another currency” and you will be provided with international bank transfer options in other currencies. Please note, if you transfer funds in a non-local currency, your bank may charge additional processing fees for an international wire transfer, which is out of Flywire’s control.
