The NUS Department of Psychology is delighted to invite the pioneering Psychology cohorts from 1986 to 1989 back to campus for a special alumni reunion on Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 11.00am to 1.00pm. This gathering is a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, revisit shared memories, and celebrate nearly four decades since the first NUS Psychology students helped lay the foundations of the discipline at the University.

NUS Department of Psychology is hosting an alumni reunion for the pioneering 80s cohorts. The purpose is to stay connected with our former students. Over the coming years, we aim to organise events that allow our Psychology alumni to get together, catch up, and stay connected. We would like to start with the 80s cohort that you are a part of.

Hence, we’re putting together a special reunion on Saturday, 22 August 2026, and we hope you’ll join us for a great session of conversation and catching up with old friends.

Programme

• Welcome by the Head of Psychology Department

• Sharing by alumnus A/P Mariam Aljunied

• Short update on how the Department has progressed over the years

• Clinical Programme, a historical milestone

• A couple of quick presentations by your juniors, so you can get a feel for where the next generation is taking psychology

• Lunch, with plenty of time to chat, catch up, and reconnect with people you may not have seen in years

For those who wish to stay on a little longer, an optional informal tour of the Department will be available after the main session. This will give alumni a chance to see today’s psychology labs and learning spaces, and to experience firsthand the growth and development of the Department since their own time as students.

This reunion promises to be a meaningful occasion — part homecoming, part memory lane, and part celebration of the enduring legacy of the NUS Psychology pioneer cohorts. Alumni are encouraged to sign up by 7 August 2026 and to share the invitation with classmates whose contact details may no longer be available, so that as many familiar faces as possible can be brought back together. 

Terms & Conditions

1. This event is open to alumni of the NUS Psychology Class of 1986–1989 only.
2.  Registration for the event will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
3. The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event programme - including but not limited to speakers, schedule, and content - without prior notice.
4. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond the organiser's control. Registered participants will be notified via email or other means of communication provided during registration.
5. By participating in the event, participants agree to indemnify the organiser from claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of their participation.
6. Participants acknowledge that photographs, videos, or audio recordings may be taken during the event, and agree to grant the organiser the right to use such media for promotional or documentation purposes.
