The EMLL series is an annual lecture series that aims to facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue on emerging issues and developments in environmental management. Organised under the MSc (Environmental Management) (MEM) programme and in support of the NUS Sustainability CONNECT Festival 2025, this year’s event spotlights the theme, “Transformative Leadership in Climate Action: Navigating Challenges, Harnessing Innovation”. This edition explores the crucial role of transformative leadership in driving successful environmental management efforts. Discover how visionary and innovative leaders overcome obstacles and harness cutting-edge technologies to build a sustainable future for all.

Keynote Speaker:

Professor Yeoh Lean Weng, Chief Sustainability Officer of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Engineering, is our honoured keynote speaker this year.

He will illuminate the urgency of our climate crisis, echoing global calls to action as the world faces droughts, floods, and rising sea levels. Gain insights on moving beyond conventional approaches; learn how transformative leadership can catalyse bold, collaborative, and just systemic change for a sustainable, net-zero future.

The Q&A session will be moderated by Professor Koh Lian Pin, Vice President (Sustainability and Resilience) and Chief Sustainability Scientist of NUS.

Join our esteemed academics, students, and industry leaders in a session designed to inspire, challenge, and empower. Be part of the generation that acts — the climate clock is ticking, and the time to lead change is now.
