What is Gen2050?

Gen2050 is a youth action programme organised by the National Youth Council (NYC), KPMG Singapore, and Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS).

The programme aims to equip more than 1,000 youths with practical skills to influence, mobilise and drive meaningful change. As part of this initiative, Gen2050 will also host a series of dialogues open to all youths, including “Shape the Future of Work.” #CNM is proud to be an ecosystem partner for this event.

The Department of Communications and New Media (CNM) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore offers one of the top programmes in Asia, advancing media studies, interactive media design, cultural studies, and communication management with a focus on new media and emerging technologies. CNM’s integrated, multidisciplinary curriculum spans journalism, public relations, visual communication, game design, human–computer interaction, and media policy and regulation. Students deepen their learning through competitions, exhibitions, client-based projects, internships, student exchanges, and industry engagements. With faculty trained in top global institutions, CNM combines academic rigor with industry relevance, preparing graduates for roles in private, public, and non-profit sectors—including communications, public relations, media relations, media and games design, journalism, research, and policy.
