Event Details
Karen Kramer is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She received her doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Haifa. Her research examines work-family policy, gender inequality, and the ways public and organizational policies shape employment and family outcomes. Her work uses cross-national and U.S. data to understand how policies can better support workers and families.
In this seminar, Assoc Prof Karen Kramer will examine how work-family policies and parental leave arrangements shape gender inequality in employment and caregiving across different countries. Drawing on evidence from Australia, South Korea, Germany, and the United States, she will discuss how policy design influences parents' work and family outcomes, and consider how policies can better support gender equality across diverse families.
