Event Details
Led by the NUS Baba House, this 1-hour walking tour will take you on a journey through time, space, and community. From the iconic and colourful townhouses along the streets, to the quiet back lanes and alleys, explore what this unique, urban landscape reveals about Singapore’s deep history of cultural exchange and hybridity. Learn about the hidden histories of inhabitants past and present, and how this multicultural social fabric breathed life into the neighbourhood. At the same time, we invite you to consider the challenges of conservation and what it means to preserve heritage beyond the physical.
The tours will begin and end at the Everton Park HDB flats, with each session guided by a different docent with their own story to tell. As such, every tour presents a personalised encounter with the neighbourhood. Afterwards, guests are free to continue exploring the neighbourhood or the nearby Everton Park Estate at their own pace.
