Research Achievements

  • Leads the Tromp Research Group at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, driving research on heart failure, artificial intelligence and health systems.
  • Achievements include:
    • Identifying a lean-diabetic heart failure phenotype unique to Southeast Asia and Singapore
    • Validating machine learning algorithms for the detection of heart failure
    • Using protein-protein interaction networks to identify new treatment targets in patients with heart failure
    • Publishing landmark papers on geographical differences in quality of care of patients with heart failure
  • Secured over S$1.5 million in funding from the National Medical Research Council, Ministry of Education, and NUS as Lead Principal Investigator.
