Corporate Events

The Corporate Events team manages major NUS events from inception to execution, ensuring that the University's spirit, reputation and identity are reflected in each event. Whether an intimate lunch for a distinguished visitor or a university celebration for hundreds, the team strives to create a memorable experience that leaves a strong and positive impression of NUS.

Among the key annual events organised by the team are Open House, University Awards, Commencement and the State of the University Address. Many special or high-profile events, such as the Lee Kuan Yew Distinguished Visitors Programme and visits of eminent dignitaries, also fall under the team's management.

The team also shares its wealth of experience in events management with the NUS community by offering regular workshops and consultancy services.

Marketing Communications

The Marketing Communications team produces print and electronic content to inform and engage the NUS community and the public. It derives satisfaction in conveying what makes NUS a distinctive and vibrant university. By employing a range of platforms and continually updating its approach, the team is able to effectively highlight the University's people, programmes and achievements to an ever-widening audience.

Key publications include the Annual Report, Corporate Brochure, NUS at a Glance (English and Chinese versions), University Awards booklet and the University's bimonthly newsletter Knowledge Enterprise. Some publications which have won awards are the University Awards 2010 booklet (Communicator Awards 2011 - Gold Award of Excellence) and NUS Annual Report 2011 (Singapore Design Awards 2012 - Bronze).

The team also promotes the University's corporate image online by developing and managing the corporate website, online news portal Newshub, key institutional web pages and social media platforms.

An additional service offered is an image library, a repository of NUS photos, for university-wide use.

Media Relations

The Media Relations team is the key liaison between the University and the news media. With a focus on formulating media strategies that enhance NUS' profile, the team prides itself on promoting greater awareness of the University's developments and accomplishments.

The team works with the news media to announce major initiatives as well as feature stories of NUS and its people making great strides in education, research and service. In addition, it handles queries from the media, facilitates media access to the NUS community, and offers a variety of resources to journalists.

The team also supports the NUS community by providing consultancy for media-related matters.

Strategic Communications

The Strategic Communications team believes in win-win partnerships with the NUS community and the community at large. Inspired by NUS' traditions and aspirations, it continually seeks new and innovative ideas to showcase the achievements of the NUS community and the University's global education and research initiatives.

To position NUS as a global university centred in Asia, the team crafts and implements integrated communications strategies that raise the visibility of NUS and help shape its global profile.

The team also manages the NUS brand through the development and production of corporate gifts, as well as the formulation of guidelines on the use of the University name and logo. Furthermore, it provides advice on messaging and branding to the NUS community.
