{"id":781,"date":"2021-02-11T10:40:37","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T02:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qat-nus.nus.edu.sg\/nusbulletin\/ay202122\/?page_id=781"},"modified":"2025-05-29T19:50:55","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T11:50:55","slug":"double-degree-programmes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/nusbulletin\/ay202526\/programmes\/double-degree-programmes\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Degree Programmes"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2>Double Degree Programmes<\/h2>\r\n<p><a id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" href=\"#\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\">Within NUS<\/a> <a id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" href=\"#\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>NUS Double Degree Programmes (DDPs) allow students to graduate with two different degrees in two disciplines from the same Faculty\/School or two different Faculties\/Schools within NUS. A Double Degree allows some courses taken to be double counted towards the requirements of both degrees, thus enabling the student to complete the two degrees in a shorter period than it would take to complete both degrees separately.<\/p>\r\n<p>In general, an undergraduate student in a DDP graduating with double Honours will require about five years of study, fulfilling at least 200 units to graduate. A student in a DDP with Honours in one discipline and a general degree in the other will require about four-and-a-half-years of study, fulfilling at least 180 units to graduate.<\/p>\r\n<p>Faculties\/Schools have identified certain prohibited combinations for student-initiated DDPs. Hence, when putting together their own Double Degree combinations, students should always verify permissible combinations with their Home Faculties\/Schools before embarking on one.<\/p>\r\n<p>For more information on the DDP framework and guidelines, please click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/registrar\/academic-information-policies\/undergraduate-students\/special-programmes\/double-degree-programmes\/double-degree-programme-framework-and-guidelines\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>There are also specially designed DDPs developed by Faculties\/Schools.
