At the College of Design and Engineering (CDE), that’s exactly how we work. We are a college where creative minds collide to shape what’s next – learning that doesn’t just prepare you for a job but lets you practice it now. We shape nimble, forward-looking talents that employers covet and that will become influential alumni globally. By uniting world-class engineering, architecture, and design research capabilities, CDE pushes into the frontiers where design, technology, and human needs intersect, deepening multidisciplinary collaboration. Here, creative minds join forces to address some of the most challenging problems in technology, sustainability, and the environment, building a better future.<\/p>\n

CDE blends engineering, architecture, and design into a unique interdisciplinary education for students and a frontier, multi-disciplinary research environment for our researchers. By working across different expert domains, CDE students design their own learning pathways grounded in real-world exposure, gaining both broad intellectual foundations and marketable career skills. Through the CDE experience, we spark a habit of continuous learning and adaptability – essential for a fast-changing world.<\/p>\n

Undergraduates can decide how broad, deep, or integrated their education is through 40 courses, comprising\u00a0a Common Curriculum, a Major of their choice, and a wide range of Unrestricted Electives. The Unrestricted Elective space gives them room to add a second major, minors, specialisations, general electives, or whatever blend aligns with their aptitude and interests.<\/p>\n

Graduate research programmes train students in a particular subject area through independent investigation, study, and experimental work, culminating in a thesis. The experience offers immersion in a vibrant, research-intensive environment tailored to the research degree.\u200b<\/p>\n
