The Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) Programme at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine was developed in consultation with the National Medical Research Council (NMRC), senior clinician-researchers, and biostatisticians to equip healthcare professionals with the essential methodological and communication skills to design and conduct meaningful clinical research. Graduate Examinations, Coursework and Allied Health Programmes: Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS)
The Master of Medicine offered by the Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) is based on two to four years of clinical training in approved training hospitals. Assessments are based on multi-format examinations and generally taken by doctors during their training (known as Residency Training) towards becoming specialists.

Since September 2020, DGMS has started offering various Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses including Executive and Graduate Certificates which are credit-bearing, as well as short courses, with support from SkillsFuture subsidies for most of our courses and Certificate programmes. We have also embarked on a collaborative arrangement with Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide training courses and assessments to build up capability across all healthcare institutions to support national training objectives, such as training and assessment testing in Respiratory Medicine for ICU Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) across all healthcare institutions, in collaboration with MOH.

The Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy is a comprehensive, applied, and skill-based academic training programme, providing a robust foundation in mental health conditions, psychology interventions, psychotherapy & counselling, and case & care coordination.
It aims to provide higher education and specialised clinical training for the growing and evolving postgraduate learning needs of mental health professionals and practitioners in Singapore and the region.
Clinical mental health professionals require a diverse set of therapy skills to effectively address the needs of their clients. The programme encompasses research, screening and assessment for common mental health disorders, cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, mindfulness, parenting, group psychotherapy, social skills training, and behavioural interventions.

The Master of Science (Speech and Language Pathology) programme is a two-year professional qualification course designed for graduates from any discipline who seek careers as Speech and Language Therapists. Students will be equipped to work with children and adults who have speech, language, swallowing, voice, and fluency disorders. The curriculum includes an emphasis on the unique communication needs of bilingual and multicultural populations. Problem-based learning, with local case studies, provides the foundation for the academic courses. Students also complete a research project relevant to evidence-based practice and have opportunities to work with a range of children and adults over four clinical placements. More than 200 graduates to date have qualified from the programme and have successfully joined social service organisations, schools, hospitals, and private centres upon graduation.

This graduate-entry programme addresses the public demand for locally trained Audiologists. It is the only coursework-based study of its kind in Singapore and is offered in collaboration with the University of Melbourne. It is customised with a distinct Asian framework and distinguishes itself from other programmes by incorporating a multi-disciplinary approach with related courses covering psychology, public health, engineering, business, and innovation. Students are given the opportunity to integrate academics, clinical practice, and research, which will be carried out in a purpose-built facility, clinic and in collaboration with government research institutes, universities, industry and international partners.

Graduate Coursework Programme in Nursing
The Master of Nursing (MN) curriculum offered by NUS reflects the current healthcare needs and the importance of advanced nursing practice.
Students will be able to advance their clinical knowledge and skills, as well as acquire . Beyond the classroom, students will also have the opportunity to be immersed in clinical practice settings. Upon successful completion of the MN programme, graduates will be eligible to apply for the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) provisional license with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and continue with a 12-month Integrated APN Internship (IAI).
This programme aims to enable MN graduate to perform the nine Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) core Entrusted Professional Activities (EPAs) at the expected level of entrustment (LOE).
They will acquire knowledge, skills, and attitude to build their capabilities in the five competencies domains determined by SNB: Patient care, Clinical knowledge, Interpersonal and communication skills, Practice-based learning and improvement, and Professionalism.

Programme Structure
The MN is offered on a full-time basis over 18 months. It consists of 70 units , with 40 units for theoretical courses and 30 units for the clinical practicum.
