Graduate Coursework Programme in Nursing
The Master of Nursing (MN) programme was established to meet a national need to equip nurses with advanced knowledge and skills for clinical management of patients and to enhance the use of research findings as the basis of effective practice.
Students receive advanced clinical knowledge, skills and acquired professional attitude from a range of disciplines in advanced nursing practice, clinical medicine, social sciences and public health. Students acquire and apply learnt knowledge and skills also in clinical practice settings.
Upon successful completion of the 18-month Master of Nursing programme, graduates are eligible to apply for APN provisional license with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) to continue with a 12-month integrated internship. APN certification will be issued upon completing the 12-month integrated internship and fulfilling the SNB requirements.
Aims of the Programme
The programme aims to prepare graduate nurses to:
- attain SNB’s Core Competencies for APN;
- be a reflective, safe, and competent APN who exercise informed clinical judgment in the delivery of evidence-based care that will improve patient outcomes;
- act as agents of change for health care reform and health care industry; and
- pursue lifelong learning through professional development.
Programme Structure
The MN is offered on a full-time basis over 18 months. It consists of 70 MCs, with 40 MCs for theoretical modules and 30 MCs for the clinical practicum.

Applicants must fulfil both academic requirements and SNB admission requirement to the Master of Nursing programme. Applicants may need to attend admission interview based on the admission process.
