NERI Year End Team Bonding Activity 2025
The NUS Environmental Research Institute held a staff bonding event centred on archery yesterday, bringing colleagues together for a morning of skill-building and camaraderie. Participants took to the range to practice posture, aim, and controlled breathing—core elements of the sport that sharpen individual focus and concentration. Many remarked on the calming, deliberate rhythm of nocking an arrow, aligning a shot, and committing to a clear point of aim.
Beyond individual technique, the activities encouraged teamwork. Staff supported one another with encouragement and light-hearted peer feedback, fostering a collaborative spirit. Small-group formats and friendly challenges reinforced communication and shared problem-solving, as teams discussed approaches and celebrated each other’s progress.
By the end of the session, the event had achieved a balance of personal growth and collective connection. Attendees left with a renewed appreciation for how archery’s quiet discipline translates to the workplace: focused attention, steady decision-making, and trust in teammates. It was a meaningful reminder that precision and partnership go hand in hand—on the range and in the office/lab.
The event concluded with a sumptuous Christmas lunch, accompanied by much laughter and celebration.
