Organised by Singapore-based non-profit WWL, the awards aim to acknowledge organisation-wide well-being initiatives with business outcomes, recognising the priority and commitment of leadership in embracing well-being to set the culture of the workplace and destigmatise mental health issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the audience in his video address, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam urged corporate leaders to take the lead in destigmatising mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NUS won the\u00a0<strong>ESG Wellbeing Strategy Award<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for the University\u2019s commitment to prioritise and emphasise well-being in the workplace, through policy directions, budgeting, leadership support, and provision of wellness resources for the NUS community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-3.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NUS Deputy President (Administration) Mr Clarence Ti was awarded the&nbsp;<strong>CEO\u2019s Wellbeing Partner Award<\/strong>, which recognises a member of an organisation\u2019s senior management who has shown commitment to implementing health and well-being programmes and directions for employees. Mr Ti currently chairs the Mental Health Steering Committee in NUS, which drives the mental health strategy at the leadership and systems level, thereby promulgating healthy work practices into NUS\u2019 policies and programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University also emerged as runner-up for the&nbsp;<strong>Wellbeing Innovation Award<\/strong>&nbsp;category for the annual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/kindmind2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(kind)mind<\/a>mental health destigmatisation campaign, which has seen a significant increase in active participation across the campus in the past few years. The campaign has broadened the awareness of health and well-being services amongst the NUS community, addressing knowledge gaps in accessing help and resources available for health and wellness in NUS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Health and Wellbeing (HWB) unit was set up in November 2020 to drive NUS\u2019 health and well-being strategy. HWB is housed under the Office of the President to demonstrate the university\u2019s commitment to enhancing the mental health and well-being of the NUS community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-4.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded by former Nominated Member of Parliament Miss Anthea Ong, WWL is a community of CEOs and leaders focused on championing workplace mental health and well-being as a strategic priority and board agenda. WWL offers programmes for CEOs and human resources and operations leaders of member organisations, such as CEO dialogue sessions and peer support programmes, learning sessions on well-being solutions for member organisations&nbsp;and working groups on best practice guidelines. Currently, WWL\u2019s member community includes over 140 CEOs and C-suite leaders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NUS is one of the founding members of WWL, as well as a practice partner where WWL has adopted the NUS&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nus.edu.sg\/hwb\/wellnus-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WellNUS Mental Health Framework<\/a>&nbsp;as a guiding framework for their organisations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NUS clinched three victories at the WorkWell Leaders (WWL) Awards 2024, celebrating the University\u2019s efforts and commitment to health and well-being in the workplace.
