\n\t\t\tEnglish Placement Test (EPT)\t<\/h2>\n\t

Students in the undergraduate programme from the Yong Siew Toh Music Conservatory (YSTCM), who do not possess the necessary English language qualifications are required to sit for the English Placement Test (EPT) set by the Centre for English Language Communication (CELC).<\/a>\u00a0Please take note that a student can only sit for the EPT\u00a0once<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The EPT for Academic Year 2025\/2026 is scheduled as follows:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
1.<\/td>\nDate and time of the EPT<\/strong><\/td>\n6 August 2025 (Wednesday):<\/strong>\n
    \n
  • Reporting time is 1.15pm<\/li>\n
  • Test time is 2pm – 3.30pm<\/li>\n
  • Location: YST Recording Studio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2.<\/td>\nThe EPT will be conducted in digital format using Examplify.<\/td>\nAs the EPT will be conducted in digital format, students are required to attend the compulsory briefing session on 5 August 2025 (Tuesday) at 10am.\n

For the briefing and the actual test, students are required to prepare:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • a laptop for completing the\u00a0paper\u00a0using\u00a0Examplify <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Please refer to the documents listed in Section 3 below for details.<\/p>\nAn iPad\u00a0should not be used\u00a0<\/strong>for the taking the EPT.<\/em>
    \nYour laptop should be fully charged or connected to a charging station <\/strong>for the whole duration of the test.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

3.<\/td>\nPreparation for the Briefing Session<\/td>\nIt is\u00a0compulsory\u00a0<\/strong>for students to attend the EPT\/Examplify briefing before they are allowed to take the EPT.\n

Before attending the briefing session, students must:<\/u><\/p>\n

4.<\/td>\nSitting for the EPT test<\/td>\nStudents will need to have their identification document with photo (e.g. Student Card, NRIC, Passport) for identity verification purpose before being allowed to sit for the test.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
