Why Singaporeans need to bone up on muscle wellness, as more become caregivers to loved ones
Making yourself a priority is not a selfish act, especially when it comes to caregiving. As Singaporeans live longer, millennials and older adults are having to adjust to a role reversal: becoming caregivers to their ageing parents and family members. Professor Andrea B Maier, Oon Chiew Seng Professor in Medicine, Department of Medicine at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Co-Director at the Centre for Healthy Longevity at NUHS believes that good nutrition, along with regular exercise, can be beneficial for building and maintaining muscle strength, and for a fuller and healthier life in the long run.
