- Evening Serenade
Li Keran, 1907 - 1989 Hanging scroll, ink and slight colour on paper, 69cm by 45cm, probably painted in the mid-60s. Two seals separately bearing the family and first names of the artist. Well-known for his depiction of the buffalo, the artist has, in this one painting not only one recumbent buffalo dominating the near foreground but also a cowboy reclining on the crook of a tree, playing a flute, as well as landscape : a forest of trees in the background.
