Thomas – Bowling Team Captain

I joined the NUS Staff Bowling Team in 2002, after attending a trial for the ISBG tournament. Then captain, Mr Cheng, and many of the senior members of the team had given me a lot of encouragement during the tournament as I did badly, it being my 1st tournament. Over the years, I received guidance from them as well and that helped to improve my game tremendously. When I took over the captaincy, I decided to continue those traits so that new members will get to enjoy the same kind of warmth and welcome feeling that I received. Of course, there is a certain level of commitment that I expect from my bowlers but I believe this is what drove us to win the ISBG Bowling Competition last year, even though we’ve always adopted a “Don’t worry about the scores” kind of motto. This actually make us watch out for one another in the team.
