Local
Full-time Singaporean (citizens and Permanent Residents) undergraduate students are required to subscribe to this scheme.
The fee will be included in the mandatory Miscellaneous Fees of the student bill on a semester basis.
This is a compulsory scheme. No opt-out is allowed.

International

ADDITIONAL INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR OVERSEAS STUDY PROGRAMMES
All full-time local (Singaporeans and Permanent Residents) undergraduate students are strongly advised to have adequate medical coverage when travelling overseas for exchange or study programmes.
The NUS Medical Scheme does NOT cover overseas outpatient medical treatment of illnesses including hospitalization, except accident treatment which requires immediate medical attention.
You may wish to contact any insurer for detailed information to provide such coverage to suit your need during your stay overseas on study programmes or other related activities. |

Emergencies
We do not entertain home or hostel visits.
For emergencies after office hours, insured students are reimbursed for consultation up to a maximum of SGD $50.00 per visit at A&E unit of the Singapore Government and Government Restructured Hospitals. There is no reimbursement for visits made during office hours. Reimbursement of civil defence ambulance call fees is restricted to campus location only. |
