Space Management System

NUS acknowledges space as a valuable asset of the University. Therefore, ensuring accurate building records and relevant space data in our ever changing landscape takes priority. In the recent years, we have been looking at different technology and software that may generate real-time space data information. We have since integrated ARCHIBUS into our space management processes which have proven useful to users and project managers.

ARCHIBUS has been the world’s leading provider of real estate, infrastructure and facilities management products and services.  With ARCHIBUS, we aim to use a single, comprehensive, integrated solution to make informed strategic decisions that optimize Return-on-Investment (ROI), lower asset lifecycle costs and increase campus-wide productivity. ARCHIBUS/FM is a complete, integrated suite of applications that addresses all aspects of facilities and infrastructure management based on one single master database and drawings. The system is fully integrated with industry-standard AUTO-CAD®, ensuring that changes made to drawings are simultaneously reflected in the database.

With ARCHIBUS, accurate space management information can be derived to support accurate space planning programming. First phase of implementation has been completed and database is ready for production. Currently, the project team is working towards implementing a web central system that enables this valuable information to be shared across the faculties and departments in the University.

The final phase will see a complete difference in the working culture in harvesting valuable space information in the University. This harvested information will aid the Senior Management in identifying critical space issues in relation to the strategic and seeks intentions to resolve them early. It will be equally beneficial to the respective faculties, administration departments in administering good space use respectively.
