LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS
- Spearheaded the development and implementation of public housing in Singapore by overseeing the completion of over half a million dwelling units and the creation of two dozen self-sufficient new towns for some 200,000 people each
- Led a major revision of the Singapore Concept Plan with his visionary yet pragmatic approach to planning and conservation, contributing to Singapore's development into a vibrant global city
- Re-planned close to a dozen cities for millions across Asia and the Middle East as well as central business districts, townships, residential and industrial estates. His work also includes the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore, the master plan for the National University of Singapore, as well as major city planning and urban design projects in India and Southeast Asia
- Provided leadership for the National Arts Council as Chairman to implement the 2000 Renaissance City Report recommendations. His appointments at the National Heritage Board, the Esplanade and the Singapore Tyler Print Institute also helped advance the arts

FUTURE ASPIRATION
