University Awards 2009

Outstanding Researcher / Young Researcher Awards

The University Researcher Awards organised by the Division of Research Administration, Office of the Deputy President (Research & Technology) was established in 1997. These awards are given out annually to recognise outstanding staff achievement and to stimulate quality research in the University. They are open to all Faculties, Schools and University-level Research Institutes/Centres.

There are two categories of awards:

  • Outstanding Researcher Award (ORA)
The ORA is awarded to researchers based on their impact and strong research track record in their area of expertise. The successful researcher must have consistently achieved peaks of research excellence over a period of time and should be recognised by the academic community as having achieved significant breakthroughs or outstanding accomplishments in his field.
  • Young Researcher Award (YRA)
The YRA is conferred to researchers below 40 years of age based on their potential impact in their respective areas of research.
