The demand for a clean and sustainable energy system stimulates researchers to create innovative approaches to solve critical technical problems.

Research Interests
  • Solid-state hydrogen storage materials
  • Synthesis and characterisation of ternary and multinary nitrides, imides and amides
  • Heterogeneous catalysis

Research Achievements
  • Pioneered the Metal-N-H system for hydrogen storage, which has higher storage capacity and broader research scope for development and optimisation
  • Holds the leadership in Metal-N-H research which has led to considerable follow-ups worldwide
  • Has 11 patents, three of which were granted in United States

  • Collaborates closely with an international network of industries, national labs and universities from United States, United Kingdom, Japan and China
