German language modules 1 & 4 as well as German for Academic Purposes.

Teaching Achievements

played a leading role in developing the curriculum at the Centre for Language Studies;

led a team of German lecturers to create e-daf, a comprehensive virtual self-access centre for the learning of German as a Foreign Language;
developed three successive curricula for German language modules at NUS;
played a key role in changing the nature and scope of foreign language learning provision at NUS.

Teaching Strengths

sees the role of an educator as extending beyond the classroom;

applies new technologies in foreign language learning;
supports his teaching role with active research in process-oriented language learning, curriculum development and syllabus design, metacognition and learner autonomy.
