Singapore’s Education Minister Mr Ong Ye Kung was among a distinguished panel who shared their thoughts on whether education is still a social leveller today.
Singapore Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung at the recent 2018 World Academic Summit, in a dialogue session moderated by NUS Senior Deputy President and Provost Professor Ho Teck Hua, shared his views on the need for new ways of thinking and underlined the importance of life-long learning and the collaborations universities form outside of academia.
Mr Ong delivered a speech at this year’s Singapore Perspectives conference, organised by the Institute of Policy Studies. The theme of the conference was “What If?” and it considered alternative scenarios of Singapore in the year 2065.
Acting Education Minister (Higher Education and Skills) Mr Ong Ye Kung shared his thoughts on the value of a humanities and social science education during a roundtable discussion featuring distinguished alumni panellists from the NUS Arts and Social Sciences.
