Biodata
Professor Ip obtained his PhD from Rice University in Houston, USA in 1980 and joined NUS as a lecturer in 1982. He teaches General Physiology, Comparative Animal Physiology and Teaching in Biology at the Department of Biological Sciences at NUS. His research areas include comparative animal biochemistry, fish physiology and bio-chemistry, and students’ learning approaches. He has received 25 teaching awards, including two Outstanding Educator Awards and three Science Distinguished Teaching Awards. He was an Associate Director at the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning between 1999 and 2007, and is currently a member of the University Promotion and Tenure Committee.
