Biodata
I joined NUS in 1989 after I obtained my MA (English Language). Between 1991 and 1995, I was at the University of Texas-Austin, working towards my PhD (Linguistics). I came back to NUS in December 1995 and began my career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language & Literature. Since then, I have taught several courses, both in the English Language curriculum and for the American Studies Programme. I have researched and published a number of papers in three areas—law and gender; critical discourse analysis; and gender and classroom practice. I have also served in several administrative positions over the years, including Deputy Director of the American Studies Centre (1999-2001); and Assistant Dean for External Relations (2006-2008). I am currently on leave from teaching in my department and am serving as Director of the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL). |
