State of the University Address
NUS President-designate Professor Tan Chorh Chuan delivered his inaugural State of the University Address (SOUA) on Friday 10 October 2008 at 11:00 am at the University Cultural Centre (Theatre).
Prof Tan spoke on how a culture which values excellence and brings out the best in the community will lead to the transformation of NUS. He outlined four new thrusts, which will be launched in 2009, that will bring about a culture transformation and quicken the pace of progress for the University. Prof Tan also encouraged the NUS community to be constantly self-surpassing and help NUS create its own distinctiveness to become a leading global university centred in Asia.
