ABN-AMRO Finance Prize

Donated in 2001 by ABN-AMRO Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, a prize is awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $15,000. The prize is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, the prize valued at $250, will be awarded to the student with the best aggregate CAP in finance for the degree of Master of Science (Financial Engineering).
2. The prize will be awarded by the Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
4. If there is no prize made in any year, the funds available will be added to the capital sum.

Academy of Medicine Medal

Donated by the Academy of Medicine in 1989, a gold medal is awarded annually from the proceeds of a capital sum of $10, 000. In 2003, it was agreed that a book prize may be awarded. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 4 below, the gold medal is awarded to the best student with distinction in Pathology and Microbiology who has successfully completed the Second Professional B.D.S. Examination.
2. The medal is awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. In the event that no student is eligible for award of a medal, a book prize may be awarded to the student who obtains the highest mark and an 'A' grade for the subject.
4. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
5. In the event of there being more than one candidate of equal merit, the Board of Examiners will take into consideration the performance of the candidates during the year as well as their examination results.
6. If no award is made in any year, the funds available will be added to the capital sum.
7. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

Academy of Medicine Medals

The Academy of Medicine has donated two medals, to be awarded annually based on the results of the First Professional Examination for the degrees of M.B.,B.S. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to there being a candidate of sufficient merit, the silver medal will be awarded to the student who is fourth in the Examination; the bronze medal will be awarded to the student who is fifth in the Examination.
2. The medals will be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
4. In the event of there being more than one candidate of equal merit, the Board of Examiners will take into consideration the performance of the candidates during the year as well as their examination results.
5. If no award is made in any year, the funds available will be added to the capital sum.
6. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

Accenture Gold Medals and Prizes

Donated in 1992 by Anderson Consulting, a gold medal and prize is awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $15,000 to the best student successfully completing the course leading to the Master of Technology (Software Engineering). It is not obligatory for the medal and prize to be awarded to the same candidate. The prize, in the form of a book voucher will be paid from the balance of the proceeds available after the purchase of the gold medal.

Subsequently in 2000, another $15,000 was donated for the award of a gold medal and a prize valued at $500 to a top student in the Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Electronic Commerce course. The award is for a period of 20 years beginning from the academic year 2001/2002.

In 2003, the donor agreed that if there is no deserving candidate in the Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Electronic Commerce, the award will be made to another deserving candidate in another programme of study for Bachelor of Computing (Honours).

Both the awards are governed by the following conditions:

1. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
2. The award will be made by the Board of Graduate Studies for the Master of Technology (Software Engineering) award and the Board of Undergraduate Studies for the Bachelor of Computing (Honours) award on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. In the event of there being no candidate of sufficient merit in the E-Commerce course, the award will be made to another deserving candidate in another programme of study for Bachelor of Computing (Honours).
4. If there are no awards made in any year, the funds available for the Master of Technology (Software Engineering) award will be added to the capital sum while the funds available for the Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Electronic Commerce award will be carried forward to provide for awards in subsequent years.
5. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

Accenture Prize

Donated in 1988 by Arthur Andersen & Company, the prize is awarded from the proceeds of a target capital sum of $40,000 (which will be attained in 1991) to the best internship team in the Diploma in Systems Analysis course.

1. The prize is awarded by the Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Director of the Institute of Systems Science (or his nominee) as Chairman, two staff members from the Institute and a representative from Arthur Andersen & Company.
2. Each student in the best internship team will receive $250. The prize will be in the form of book vouchers.
3. In addition to the $250, each student in the best internship team will receive a commemorative plaque separately from Arthur Andersen & Company.
4. No award will be made unless there is a team of sufficient merit.

ACI-SC Medal and Book Prize

Donated in 2000 by the American Concrete Institute-Singapore Chapter, a gold medal and book prize are awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $15,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, a gold medal and book prize will be awarded annually to the undergraduate student who obtains the highest average marks in modules related to Concrete Materials Technology.
2. The award will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
4. The book prize, valued at $100 will be in the form of book vouchers.
5. If no award is made in any year, the funds available will be carried forward to provide for awards in subsequent years.

Adrian Clark Memorial Medal

A gold medal to be called the 'Adrian Clark Memorial Medal' provided out of the interest on a sum of $3,000 donated in 1950 by friends in memory of the late Mr. Adrian Clark, Legal Advisor to the Federated Malay States, shall be awarded annually by the Board of Undergraduate Studies.

The medal shall be for award to the student gaining the highest marks in the final degree examination in the Faculty of Law provided he is considered by the Board of Undergraduate Studies to be of sufficient merit.

Aedas Medal & Prize in Architectural Design

Donated in 2009 by Aedas Consultants Pte Ltd, a gold medal and cash prize are awarded from the sum of $15,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, a gold medal and cash prize of $1250 will be awarded to a deserving graduate student in the Bachelor of Arts (Architecture) program who has achieved the highest average mark for AR4101 (Design 7) and AR4102 (Design 8).
2. The student must also obtain a minimum grade of A- in both modules. In case of a tie in the highest average mark, the student with the highest CAP will be awarded.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
4. The medal and prize will be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.

Albert Lim Liat Juay Medals

The Albert Lim Liat Juay Silver Medal and the Albert Lim Liat Juay Bronze Medal were donated in 1970 by Dr. Chee Phui Hung for award annually on the results of the Final Fourth Professional Examination for the degrees of M.B.,B.S.

1. Subject to there being a candidate of sufficient merit, the silver medal will be awarded to the Best Student in the Final Fourth Professional Examination; the bronze medal will be awarded to the Second Best Student in the Final Fourth Professional Examination.
2. The medals will be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners.

Alcatel-Lucent Telecommunications Prize

Donated in 1999 by Lucent Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd, a book prize is awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $15,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, the book prize will be awarded to the student who has the best performance in a module in the area of Communications and Networks in the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) Examinations or the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering) Examinations.
2. The prize will be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
4. In case of a tie, the award will be divided equally.
5. The book prize, valued at $250, will be in the form of book vouchers.

Amos Koh Medal

Established in 2005, the Amos Koh Medal is in memorial of the late Dr. Amos Koh, a real estate academic and professional who had served the public and private sector significantly (until 2000). Donated in 2005 with an expendable sum of S$30,000, the Amos Koh Medal is awarded to an undergraduate completing the final year studies in the Department of Real Estate.

The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 4 below, the medal will be awarded to a graduating student in Bachelor of Science (Real Estate) programme who has:
   (a) obtained at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division);
   (b) achieved the highest mark for RE4803 / RE4000 Dissertation.
2. In the event of a tie between two candidates, student with the highest CAP will be awarded.
3. The award will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
4. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
5. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

AMP Book Prize

The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) annually donates a book prize, valued at $500, to an Honours Year student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences who has submitted the best Academic Exercise on any aspect that is of relevance to the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore. The ethnic background of the student is immaterial.

1. The prize will be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of a committee consisting of the Dean and Heads of Departments in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. No award will be made unless the Board of Undergraduate Studies is satisfied that there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
2. If in any year, in the opinion of the Board of Undergraduate Studies, there are two or more candidates meriting the award, the income may be distributed by the Board of Undergraduate Studies in such manner as it thinks fit. The prize will be in the form of book vouchers.

Annie Tan (Mrs Wan Boo Sow) Medal and Prize

Donated in 2008 by a member of the Wan family in remembrance of their late mother, Mdm Annie Tan, who was proficient in several languages including English and Chinese, a gold medal and a cash prize is awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $250,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 4 below, the award will be given annually to two outstanding female undergraduates of the graduating cohort with high bilingual competence in Chinese and English.
2. The award recipients must be Singapore Citizens and had graduated with First Class Honours.
3. A cash prize of $3,000, together with a gold medal, will be awarded to the best candidate. A cash prize of $2,000 will be awarded to the second best candidate. Each is to be awarded to strictly one candidate annually.
4. Preference to be given in the following order:
   1. Candidates with a record of community service perhaps from pre-university years. Emphasis must be on service to the wider community and through secular organizations. Therefore, activities exclusively through one’s own religious group or faith-based charities (i.e. not secular groups) are excluded for the purpose of this Prize.
   2. Candidates who have undertaken an internship in NUS Overseas College (NOC) in a Chinese city (e.g. Shanghai or Beijing); or a module in Chinese Studies.
5. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
6. The award will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the Selection Committee comprising selected members from the Board of undergraduate Studies, An interview of each eligible candidate would be conducted by the Selection Committee before the shortlisted candidate(s) is recommended to the Board of Undergraduate Studies. Each member of the award panel must be bilingual in Chinese/English.
7. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

Architecture Alumni Association (AAA) Prize

Donated in 2000 by the Architecture Alumni Association, a book prize valued at $600 is awarded for ten years beginning from the academic year, 2000/2001. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, the award will be made to the Master of Architecture Level II student who has distinguished himself in Dissertation. The Dissertation must be a study in the area of Asian architecture and urbanization.
2. The prize will be made by the Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit. The book prize, valued at $600 will be in the form of book vouchers.
4. If no award is made in any year, the funds available will be carried forward to provide for awards in subsequent years.

Donated in 2008 by Ascendas Land (S) Pte Ltd, a gold medal and a cash prize is awarded from the sum of $15,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

1. Subject to rule 3 below, a gold medal and a cash prize of $1250, will be awarded to a deserving undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Science (Real Estate), who has achieved the highest average mark in the following Real Estate modules:

   -RE2281 Real Estate Asset Market I (to be replaced by RE2804 Real Estate Finance when the old syllabus is phased out)

   -RE3281 Real Estate Asset Market II (to be replaced by RE3802 Real Estate Investment when the old syllabus is phased out)

   The student must also obtain a minimum grade of A- in both modules. In case of a tie in the modules’ highest average marks, the student with the highest mark in the RE3281 module will be awarded.

2. The award will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering, Fourth Congress Commemorative Book Prize

Jointly donated in 1987 by the Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Executive Committee and the Applied Research Corporation, 3 book prizes are awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $10,000.

1. Subject to rule 3 below, the prizes each valued at $100 will be available for award annually to students from the Department of Chemical Engineering. The book prizes will be awarded as follows:
   1. One book prize to the second best student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) III Examination.
   2. One book prize to the second best student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) IV Examination.
   3. One book prize to the third best student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) IV Examination.
2. The prizes shall be awarded by the Board of Undergraduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
3. No award shall be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
