Exit

Students can choose to leave the programme, or be asked to leave if they fail to meet and maintain requirements. Students who leave the programme are permitted to work instead for a single degree in their original home Faculty. Modular credits completed in the double degree programme will be counted towards the fulfillment of the degree requirements of their single degree, subject to the normal limits of the Faculty curriculum.

1. For candidates admitted before AY2011-12: if your CAP falls below 4.0 for the home course for two consecutive semesters, you will be required to leave the DDP. by withdrawing from the second degree programme.

2. For candidates admitted from AY2011-12 onwards: if your CAP falls below 4.0 for the home course, or below 3.5 for the second degree, or both, for two consecutive semesters, you will be required to leave the DDP by withdrawing from the second degree programme.

Please see below for a table of scenarios where the students would be removed from the programme. These (non-exhaustive) scenarios apply to candidates admitted to NUS from AY2011-12 onwards.

Note

With effect from Semester 2, AY2009/2010, DDP students who wish to withdraw from the 2nd degree programme should submit their request to their home Faculty Administrators after the release of the results of the immediate past semester and by the first week of the following semester.  There shall be no DDP withdrawal allowed in the midst of a semester (except for graduating cases).

Students who choose to withdraw from or are required to leave the 2nd degree programme after the release of the results will be allowed to exercise S/U on the modules taken in the immediate past semester based on the original Faculty/School’s S/U rules. Such students must submit their S/U requests (Please contact DDP administrator with the S/U form), if any, to the Home Faculty Administrators by the first week of the following semester. Requests to withdraw from DDP or exercise the S/U option after the above stipulated deadline will not be considered.

We will urge students to carefully consider if they wish to withdraw as the decision to withdraw will be irrevocable.  Withdrawn students will not be re-admitted into the DDP even if their single degree CAP improves to 4.0 and above after exercising the S/U option.

Students will have to make sure that the modules submitted for S/U are: (1) eligible for the S/U option and (2) they have not exceeded the 12 MCs “S” limit.

After the third week of the semester, students will be able to view the updated S/U grades at myISIS.

Students will also be able to view their updated CAP in the following semester after the release of the examination results. Note that the separate CAPs for the two degrees will be combined and computed as one CAP based on all modules read upon their exit.
