Office of Safety, Health & Environment
Introduction
We facilitate the building of a positive safety, health and environmental culture and learning experience for all NUS staff and students through the adoption of SHE best practices and systems.
This is achieved through the implementation of a safety and health management system (SMS@NUS) across NUS Departments and Faculties. This system has been modeled using international standards such as OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements) and CWA 15793:2008 (Laboratory biorisk management standard).

Due to the diverse nature of activities on campus and their arising hazards and risks, OSHE had developed appropriate polices, manuals, programmes to ensure these hazards are effectively managed.
