The National University of Singapore has won the Silver
Award for the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Performance Awards 2009.
This award is conferred jointly by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH)
Council and Ministry of Manpower to recognise organisations who have
achieved excellent safety performances. To have received the Silver Award,
NUS met the following WSH Council criteria:
-
NUS achieved an injury rate below 25% of the injury rate of its industry.
-
NUS has established a sound safety and health management system, which was
verified by an independent auditing firm.
NUS is the only institute of higher learning to have received this award and
this is another milestone in our journey towards excellence in safety and
health management. OSHE would like to take this opportunity to thank NUS
staff for their commitment towards safety and health on campus, in
particular the members of the various faculty and departmental safety
committees who have contributed to developing and maintaining their
occupational safety and health systems.
