SPPP, a scheme introduced by the Singapore Sports Council (SSC), aims to promote opportunities for sports participation. It supports and offers financial assistance to student groups or organizations that organize sporting activities and programmes, endorsed by SSC.
SSC works very closely with NUS Sports Recreation Centre (SRC) to administer this scheme. Annually, a fixed amount has been allocated to NUS for its programmes and activities. Based on a predetermined set of criteria and recommendations from SSC, SRC will allocate a proportionate amount to each event or programme. The amount of funding is generally based on the following:
- Objectives of the event
- Expected number of participants
- Profile of event
- The degree of establishment of event
In line with our efforts to promote campus vibrancy, SRC will give more priority to events held on campus or targeted at the NUS community.
Application Period for AY 09/10 : 22 May to 5 Jun 2009 - Application has closed
Student groups or organizations have to submit applications for projects taking place between August 09 to July 10.
After the deadline, ad-hoc requests will be considered, depending on the nature of the activity and the availability of remaining funds. Please forward your ad-hoc project proposals (click here to download the template), at least 2 months in advance, to rahayu@nus.edu.sg.
Result of Application
You will be notified of the outcome of your application via email.
Upon your successful application, SSC, Singapore Pools and Singapore Totalisation Board should be appropriately acknowledged on all publicity materials in the format as follows:
SSC should be acknowledged by the words "In Support of Sports Promotion" while Singapore Pools and Singapore Totalisation Board should be acknowledged as "Partners in Sports".

Post Event Report
The final amount disbursed will be determined by the outcome of your event, i.e. whether you have met the objectives that you have set earlier, the final statement of accounts and whether you have met the deliverables stated below.
As such, please submit your post event reports 2 weeks upon the completion of your event (click here to download the report template). In addition to the post event reports, please attach the following:
1. Scanned copies of receipts. Failure to submit receipts will render the funding void.
2. 10 jpeg format pictures of your event. Choose pics of the crowd, or at the start/end point, with participants in-action and publicity material, acknowledging sponsors for Singapore Sports Council, Singapore Pools & Tote Board. These pictures will be posted on Singapore Sports Council’s website (so please give the best ones!!). Please keep file size down.
