- NUS Vacation Internship Programme (VIP)
The NUS Vacation Internship Programme is intended to provide students with opportunities to gain work experience during the vacation periods in May and December every year. Students volunteer to participate in this internship programme.

Employers’ Submission
Employers should ensure scope of internship is meaningful and serves to enhance the student's educational experience and career development. Learning objectives should be structured into the internship programme. The company should appoint a reporting supervisor who will be responsible for the learning outcomes of the intern and to ensure that the established objectives are met. To ensure a good learning outcome for students, internship requests will be screened through by NUS Career Centre. Approved requests will be published.
VIP Period
The period of training will be during the vacation breaks each year.
For Academic Year 2012/2013, the VIP periods are:
- Semester 1: 10 December 2012 – 11 January 2013 (i.e. 5 weeks)
- Semester 2: 13 May 2013 – 2 August 2013 (i.e. 12 weeks)

Procedures
- Please complete the NUS Internship Requisition Form online at NUS TalentConnect at least two months prior to the start date of the internship period for approval. If the programme is found suitable, it would be posted on the NUS TalentConnect for students to apply.
- If your company is a new partner with NUS Career Centre, please register for an account with NUS TalentConnect from https://talentconnect.nus.edu.sg/OSA/registration. Existing companies would have received an email from us with the account details.
- Employers are to manage internship postings and viewing of applications directly from NUS TalentConntect. Please communicate all terms and conditions listed in this form to your shortlisted candidates during the interview. Employers are strongly advised to request interns to sign an employment or internship contract to prevent any future potential disputes.

*Work Study Scheme
If the job scope is administrative in nature or can be filled by a temporary help, we seek your assistance to hire under Work Study Scheme (WSS) to provide financially needy students with an alternative source of income. VIP students are paid an allowance (CPF exempted), whereas WSS students are paid on an hourly rate as per temporary staff.
- NUS Global Internship & Mentorship (GIM) Programme (May-July)
The GIM Programme is a joint initiative between the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and the NUS Career Centre to nurture NUS students into becoming the next global talents for Singapore-based companies based regionally and globally.
If you have a meaningful cross-cultural or overseas assignment and senior management executives who are willing to provide mentorship for our students, the NUS Career Centre is committed to sourcing the best talents within NUS to meet your requirements. The GIM programme is open only to second- and third-year students during the 12-week vacation period between May and July.
