This is a friendship programme to help international students adapt to the Singaporean lifestyle and diverse cultures with the help of our pool of host volunteers and senior NUS student volunteers.

Host Family Programme

Our hosts are from all walks of life which include NUS Alumni, staff as well as everyday Singaporean families.

Friends of NUS

Senior NUS students will befriend international students to assist them in settling into Singapore and NUS.

Both programmes offer the opportunity to build friendship among people from different cultures and to provide a sense of what local life is like in Singapore.

Some of the common activities that our hosts/ student hosts had done with our international students include:

• experiencing local food culture
• meeting up on campus
• understanding and going out for festivals celebrations
• visiting historical sites and places of interest
• experiencing how local live by inviting students to their house

Participation in the programme is strictly voluntary for the host/ student host and international student. Due to the limited numbers of host/ student host we have, we strongly encourage participants to be committed in the programme.
