Checklist


Before leaving your country, please ensure that you have done the following:

  • Checked that you have accepted your offer online by the stipulated deadline as stated in your offer letter.
  • Checked that you have submitted your Form P (to provide photograph) for printing your Student Card)/reply on Offer of Admission (for printing of your Student card) to the Registrar’s Office (for undergraduate freshmen and graduate research scholars respectively) or to the respective Faculty (for graduate coursework students) by the stipulated deadline as stated in your offer letter.
  • Secured your accommodation.


Immigration Matters
  • Obtained a valid passport.
  • Checked with Singapore High Commission in your country regarding visa requirements for entry into Singapore.
  • Checked with your immigration department if you are required to apply for an exit visa.
  • A medical report is required by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for the Student's Pass application (if your academic duration is 6 months or more). You may choose to either have the medical examination done in your home country or in Singapore. The medical report must not be issued more than three months at the time of submission of application. If you decide to do your check-up overseas, please ensure that the medical report is completed in English, written legibly and the laboratory tests are attached with the ICA medical report form.


Travelling Matters
  • Completed your travel arrangements, using a reputable travel agency.
  • Checked with the Singapore Customs for assistance with customs arrival formalities (eg. currency, controlled and prohibited goods).
  • Get a copy of your medical record from your physician and a vaccination record from your doctor.
  • If you need regular medication, get an adequate initial supply and prescription from your doctor and bring any medical documentation you have access to.


Financial Matters
  • Organised financial arrangements so that you have enough money to cover travel expenses, registration fees and living costs on arrival  and also for your duration of studies in NUS.
  • Checked procedures for transferring funds to a bank in Singapore.
  • Arranged to have both personal and credit references (optional).


Miscellaneous

If you are arriving after office hours, do inform your allocated student residences of your expected date and time of arrival. Arrangement will then be made for late check-in. If you have not been assigned a room in the student accommodation, please make the necessary arrangement for your overnight stay at a hotel or your friends'/relatives' home. You may also refer to the Hostel Admission Services website for information on private accommodation.
