‘Friends of NUS’ is a hosting programme to assist international students with their new lives in Singapore and NUS. It promotes the building of friendships among people of different cultures . New international students also get the chance to see and experience Singapore through the eyes of a "local".

As a student host, you will not only benefit from the cultural exchange but you might be able to learn more about the country where you are going for SEP or practise your language. The friendship and support you offer to new international students of NUS would greatly benefit them.

Some of the suggested activities that you can initiate are:

• Meeting up regularly on campus
• Visiting Singapore’s places of interest
• Celebrating local festivals

There is no home stay requirement.

Participation in the programme is voluntary.

Recruitment: Starts in July and December
Commitment: Depends on the length of stay of the international student in NUS.
